A few hours ago this morning, Phil Mickelson has just won the Phoenix Open, the golf tournament sponsored by Waste Management Inc. With a superb total score of 256 (60-65-64-67), he ties the golf tournament record set by Mark Calcavecchia in 2001. Winner also in 1996 and 2005, Mickelson joins Calcavecchia, Arnold Palmer and Gene Littler as the only three-time winners of this golf tournament.
Brandt Snedeker, who in last week’s Farmers Insurance golf tournament was second at four strokes behind Tiger Woods, again came in second with a score of 260 (64-66-65-65), again at four strokes off the champion.
It’s worth noting that Phil Mickelson was Tied-51st in Farmers Insurance Open, with a score of 288 (72-71-75-70).
Phil’s next stop: The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am where he is the defending champion, and Tiger Woods was Tied-15th.
