Interesting Final Day at the US Open

Things are getting real interesting as the US Open ended its Day 3 with top names all gone.

The leaderboard at the end of Day 3 reads:

  1. Brian Harman 204, -12
  2. Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Tommy Fleetwood,  205, -11
  3. Rickie Fowler 206, -10
  4. Si Woo Kim 207, -9
  5. Patrick Reed, Russell Henley, Charley Hoffman,    208, -8

No Dustin Johnson, Jason Day is gone, Rory McIlroy, too. They all had missed the cut.

So it is really going to be a really interesting Final Sunday. Any one of the above could emerge the champion at the end of Day Four tomorrow.

And whoever he is, he will be a first time US Open champion. A first time major winner.

Sergio Garcia at the 2017 Masters Tournament

This is going to be a very exciting final day of the Masters Tournament. To see Sergio Garcia as joint leader – with Justin Rose – on Day 3, within sight of the coveted Green Jacket.

Day 3 Leaderboard

There are so many top players up there within one or two shots of each other. A crowded leaderboard that opens up to any one of them could be this year’s champion. We cannot count off Lee Westwood although he is at 1-under. There is also no guarantee for Jordan Spieth even when he is just 2 strokes off the lead. And so no one can confidently say that Justin Rose or Sergio Garcia or Rickie Fowler will emerge victorious.

The winner for 2017

So it’s difficult to say who will be this year’s winner. But then, well, one hopes very much that come late Sunday afternoon tomorrow Sergio Garcia will be wearing the Green Jacket. For his first time ever.

Amending the Minor Offences Act

Amending the Act:  I wish to put on record that I totally support the government’s move to amend the Minor Offences Act. It is about time.

Nobody took notice of it until a pig came along.

One little pig:  Yes, a pig had drawn everybody’s attention to this major thing. Because only when this particular lady wrote the word “BABI” on the summons notice did people realised, “Whaatt??” Maximum fine is only a miserable RM100.00?

One hundred ringgit was a huge amount at the time when, for example, a teacher’s pay was RM300.00. An offender would definitely become very poor after paying the fine. But not now. Not when even a new teacher’s pay is around RM3,000.

So yes, everybody will surely welcome any move to amend that figure of RM100.00.

And when that is finally done, we all must thank Mr Pig for being the reason behind the change.
