Golf’s Most Gripping Show of 2012. The Tour Championship by Coca-Cola

The Tour Championship is underway!!! And this will be golf’s most gripping tournament in 2012 (The Ryder Cup will be a close second). Rory McIlroy is leading 29 other golfers  on the fairways today and the next three days. Yes, of course; Tiger Woods is among the pack, too. He is at No.2 on the points.

Everybody wants to see who will be the winner of FedEx Cup (and incidentally, will bring ten million dollars home). People want to see whether Rory can win it, whether Tiger will grab it, or Phil will emerge as the surprise victor.

If any of the Top 5 guys  – Rory, Tiger, Nick Watney, Mickelson, and Snedeker – wins this tournament (The Tour Championship) the FedEx Cup will be his. But every one of the other 25 guys will still have a remote -did I say ‘remote‘? – chance of holding the FedEx Cup if he wins The Tour Championship, provided several things happen at the same time. One example/scenario: if Oosthuizen (now at No.6) wins the Tour, he will win the Cup provided Rory comes third or worse.

And so, fans of golf, stay glued in front of the telly, and Happy Viewing!

p/s: don’t chew off all of your finger nails. 🙂

  1. PakNgah says:

It’s always very very enjoyable to see Tiger out there in front, which he did on Day 1. But he went south on Day 2. A big let down for his fans. And if it were football (soccer), he’d have been substituted.

  2. PakNgah says:

Today is Day 3 of the Tour Championship. Jim Furyk at -7. McIlroy at -3. Tiger at -1. Well, realistically speaking, Tiger won’t win this tournament, so he will also not win the FedEx Cup.

And the Cup looks set to belong to Rory.

  3. PakNgah says:

And so that was it. Snedeker had won the Tour Championship and the US10million FedEx Cup bonus.

Tiger Woods? Tied for 8th, eight disappointing shots behind. McIlroy? Tied for 10th, nine strokes off Snedeker.
